The demand for greener IT solutions is increasing rapidly as we all become more focused on the climate, IT security, and compliance. Solving the problem locally is not a challenge, but when the need goes global, there have been no sufficient solutions until now.

We have a reach within Denmark, but also across the entire world and therefore, Danoffice IT Green have solved the issue. We have developed and launched a global ITAD Service which launched in the beginning of 2024. One point of contact, one contract. As soon as something goes global, the complexity increases. “We make it easy for our customers to manage their used IT equipment as well as obtain documentation of their compliance. The customers enter into an agreement with us and then we take care of everything. We coordinate each and every task and arrange pick-up and secure transportation to our nearest ITAD hub to keep the task as local-to-local as possible. This way, we avoid moving the equipment across large geographical distances,” Morten G. Arknæs, Vice President Danoffice IT Green, says.

At these locations, all devices having data stored on them will be data-wiped to the highest market standards and the equipment will be sorted based on whether it can get a new life with a new user or not. If not, they are disposed of in an environmentally proper manner. It is all documented and reported back to the customer including a data-deletion report. We also make sure the customer receives a financial incentive for those pieces of the equipment that had value and were given a new life with a new user. The bottom line is that we have taken something difficult and complex and made it simple, efficient, and attractive for our customers.

Danoffice IT Green  Contact

"Our clear mission has been to create a secure and simple solution in the global ITAD market. We want to be the one company that can manage used equipment from the entire world. We remove the complexity from the equation for the customer and return security and green adaptation instead.”

Service in 138 countries ”and counting”

We are continuously expanding our service both in terms of streamlining the processes but also when it comes to the global reach and density of the physical ITAD hubs. At this time, we can service customers in 138 countries from 103 ITAD hubs and we are continuously exploring the options to increase the number of countries we can service at the highest standards possible.

”At Danoffice IT, we have spent more than 20 years bringing IT equipment to the world and we have created a unique logistics platform which is only matched by few globally. We are now flexing those muscles, but in reverse, by bringing the IT equipment back again for safe recycling or even better, for repurposing,” Morten says and adds: “The key part of Danoffice IT Green’s new global ITAD Service is that the customer needs to work with only us. One point of contact and one contract. We handle all the logistics. We arrange all the documentation and ensure that everything is in compliance with the applicable laws and directives, including the EU’s CSRD which several companies spend extensive resources on.”

Local to local

With our new ITAD Service, we, at Danoffice IT, have obligated ourselves to maintain Asset Disposition requests from our global customers in a way that prioritizes environmental sustainability while still being an efficient business solution. The solution is to keep it local. Morten explains ”It is a black business to perform a green service and then ship the equipment across large stretches by plane or ship. Therefore, we are building our new service around a network of carefully selected collaborative partners. The equipment is handled from local to local,” he says and elaborates: “We ensure secure retrieval and then we bring it to our collaborative partners securely. We have powerful partners and we have placed strict requirements on them. We have secured our agreement to ensure they adhere to all applicable standards including R2, ISO 27001, and ISO14001. The more we can expand our network and the tighter our weave is, the shorter our distances to cross become.”

Frederik Møller Hansen adds: ”We place unambiguous weight on local processing to minimize transport. However, in this approach, we also streamline the legal and operational complexity through a so-called singular contractual relationship with Danoffice IT.

“We will be creating new relationships in the market with this service. Whether you are in Copenhagen or Nairobi, the experience and the value of the service are exactly the same. We become the central point of contact and the experience is the same for all customers”

Great Help for Customers in Doubt

By handling the entire process of the logistics and sustainability aspects while also securing that the customer’s Circular IT strategy is profitable, we are satisfying a very current and powerful demand according to Morten G. Arknæs: “Many people have doubts around the CSRD directive among other things. What can we do? What are we allowed to do? What do we have to do? We will be a great help to our customers here and not least with the increasing requirement to be CSRD compliant. Added to that is all the documentation and compliance needed for re-export. This is exactly why we are offering this service. We need to recycle our experience and resources to benefit our customers and the environment,” Morten G. Arknæs, Vice President, Danoffice IT Green, concludes.

Documentation for Your Positive Imprint

We offer all our ITAD Service customers a CO2e report which outlines the exact savings of emissions on the recycled or re-used equipment. The report is used in the company’s own report, among other things, in relation to CSRD.

What Is ITAD?

ITAD is an abbreviation of "IT Asset Disposition" and encompasses the entire process of secure and responsible disposal of outdated or undesired IT equipment such as computers, servers, hard drives, and other electronic equipment. ITAD is not just about disposing of old equipment, it also includes data removal to protect sensitive information. Naturally, it also includes recycling and re-use of components and in some cases, re-sale of the equipment. The purpose of ITAD is to minimize the environmental effects of IT equipment which has reached the end of its life all while the company’s data is secured from unauthorized access which maximizes the monetary value of the equipment.
