It is now public that all clients with Cloud only-plans on Microsoft’s long-running Enterprise Agreement License program are looking into a new future. Existing contracts are to be transferred to new plans and programs as of January 2025.
The well-known Enterprise Agreement License program, covering EA, EAS and SCE, is very soon to change from its current state. All Cloud Only-contracts will be terminated. Microsoft announced this on November 12 2024. This leaves large organizations worldwide with licenses which now must be converted into new plans – a process which must be executed with precision and the right strategies. In short, all standard contracts are to be renewed through the current Cloud Solutions Provider program (CSP) – and extended contracts with so-called amendments, are to be transferred to a new program named MCA-E, Microsoft Customer Agreements-Enterprise.
Well and safely underways
However, Enterprise clients of Danoffice IT holding these Cloud Only licenses, can rest assured, says Cloud License Specialist in Danoffice IT, Nikolaj Jensen: “One has to see this news as a natural development. From Microsoft’s perspective, this is an older license program which now needs to be updated. Obviously, this raises a lot of questions, but rest assured – we both can AND will help all our Danoffice IT clients efficiently and safely on to the next step. This is exactly the purpose of our CSP-division”.
According to Nikolaj Jensen there are two main effects to this development: “Clients with standard contracts can get their licenses renewed directly through CSP. This is an efficient process for us, since we have in-depth knowhow on the conditions and the terms. However, if a client holds amendment contracts with additions to the standard contract, then they are forced to setup new MCA-E contracts, and this processes is to be handled directly by Microsoft – with no third-party involved”, he states. “It is, however, very important to underline here, that before engaging in these actions, we at Danoffice IT can guide our clients towards which type of licenses and contracts they should request within the new MCA-E program. Our license team is updated on this new development and we are ready to take action”, says Cloud License Specialist in Danoffice IT, Nikolaj Jensen.
