Proper oversight is often times the foundation for success, but when you work with IT infrastructure and IT security, it becomes a critical necessity. Monitoring and reporting lead the mind towards heavy processes, however, just as with everything else, the key is to start out right to avoid unnecessary mistakes and expenses.

The objective is to create the foundational oversight to get quickly and efficiently off the ground. This is exactly what Danoffice IT Security Baseline does. Does that also include CIS? Very few can give you a resounding yes. Therefore, we know that we can quickly get our customers into high gear and proceed with the oversight provided by Security Baseline. We cut to the quick immediately to provide oversight and a plan of action.”

Boosting the Resources

Resources and skills are the key issues in IT departments everywhere these days. This notion is also at the core of the strategy chosen by 3C Retail: “We are boosting everything by combining Danoffice IT’s resources with our own skills in the areas that can improve our cyber defense. We are using 20% of our internal capacity, but we are getting 100% in total. “They go in and look at everything and make their recommendation in a 72-page report,”  Heine Christiansen, Corporate IT and Financial Director of 3C Retail, says.
Bringing in assistance in the security preparedness is part of a clearly defined strategy by 3C Retail, Heine says: “It is important to create the right collaborative partnerships for a company of our size in order for us to create the best possible preparedness. In this particular instance, we have asked Danoffice IT to serve as our partner. They provide a specialist who performs the task with us. We run it jointly and thereby, I quickly achieve results in my organization simply by bringing in more hands and ideas.”

5 Good (Fundamental) Pieces of Advice on your Security

Many have said it before and it has been said many a time: most security breaches are the result of the most basic of errors. The simple issue which is often right in front of us. For instance, did you remember to ensure that:

  1. Your updates are handled
It is almost embarrassing to say it out loud, but did you remember to patch your servers? The client updates are particularly critical.
  2. LAPS?
If you do not have LAPS activated, you might as well go without password protection.
  3. Mobile management is not only practical
These days, an MDM environment is considered critical, but it is far from everyone who has one.
  4. On your mark, get set, process?
Do you have policies and procedures in place? No company is going to get by on merely good systems.
  5. Support the backup feature
Backup is essential. You need to make a decision about intervals and timing and you may even need to store a physical offline backup of things such as your AD.
